What is expected of me?

As you consider the AdZou program for your organization, you will need to:

  • Define a specific marketing challenge for your company, organization or department. You may wish to promote a brand, develop an image campaign or simply educate a specific target audience.
  • Fill out the client application form and include the proposed project description outlining the specific marketing challenge.
  • Submit the application form for review by AdZou management. An AdZou representative will contact you shortly after receiving your completed application.
  • Process payment of the invoice, which will be sent after the start of each semester.

    Expectations for AdZou clients:

    Phase I: Pre-project Planning

    • Review your marketing challenge and project goals with your assigned AdZou management faculty member. This may be via phone or in person, usually 2-4 weeks prior to the start of each semester.
    • Compile materials about your organization or program that help your team understand your organization and its goals. Organize any past research, campaigns or other relevant information about your industry that can help them learn about your business. These items can be shared at the client briefing.
    • Schedule your client briefing with your AdZou account executive. You will be contacted by your Account Executive in the first week of the semester. Ideally, client briefings will be done in person within the first 10 days of the start of the semester. You will receive a written agenda from your Account Executive prior to the meeting.

    Phase II: Campaign Development

    • Be prepared to respond to on-going questions and clarification needs from your team. Most communication will take place as needed through e-mails and telephone calls. When possible, please respond within 48 hours to keep the teams progress on track.
    • Your team should provide you with updates throughout the semester. In the first 4-6 weeks, the team will be conducting primary and secondary research. We stress that this is a research-based plan, not just a collection of creative ideas. Those will come later in the semester (and they’re a lot of fun), but the primary job in the beginning is research in order to really understand your target audiences and their preferences.
    • Schedule your final presentation date and time with your AE. Presentations usually last an hour and can be hosted at the University. Invite the appropriate staff members to be part of this session.

    Phase III: Campaign Presentation

    • Attend the final presentation. This is a formal presentation to unveil all of the work your AdZou team has done and to explain the components of your strategic communication plan. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification and provide feedback that will be factored into their final grade.
    • Read the plan book. At the presentation your AdZou team will present you with a comprehensive book containing all of the elements of your plan in great detail. The book will include all of their research, an explanation of their campaign strategy, creative work samples and other elements that will be of great value to you. This is your road map for any future development of the campaign.
    • Most of the students on your AdZou team will graduate within days of their presentation to you. However, they’ll leave contact information with you so that you can contact them with any questions you might have down the road. Their obligation to the project ends with their presentation to you, but having invested so many hours of work in putting together your plan, students are usually very happy to answer questions as you begin implementation of your new plan.
    • They produced everything that we wanted and much more than we imagined.
      -Caroline Mitchell,
      YMCA Literacy Council

    • This team did an excellent job understanding a very technical, challenging product line and came up with great ideas, most of which we will embrace. I would highly recommend this program to others.
      -Rick Caldwell,
      President of SCADWare

    • I thought their recommendations spoke to the demographic of our board and answered a need that we have been feeling for some time.
-Bob Priddy,President of Jefferson City Community Concert Association

    • Our experience with this program/project was outstanding. We couldn't have asked for a better group of students. They were extremely professional and the market plan they presented was more than we could have ever imagined.
      -Allison Harnden, Sprint

    • I cannot say enough good things about the team, their creative solutions to my ad problem and their professionalism. I've hired pros before and they could take some lessons from this team.
